If you’re a tall yoga student, you’ll notice that the standard yoga mat is only 74” in length. While this is fine for the average yogi, you will have to decide if you want your feet, hands or head to be on the hard, slippery bare floor.
YogaAccessories.com offers yoga mats for tall people – 84” in length, and ¼” thick for extra cushioning. As of this report, their Extra Long Yoga Mat is only $16.99, and is free of phthalate inks, dyes, latex and heavy metals. I own one of these mats myself and can also verify that the mat has no unpleasant odor.

Pair that Extra Long Yoga Mat with an Extra Long Yoga Strap, also from YogaAccessories.com and you’re ready for class!

If you have to push someone in a wheelchair for any length of time, you know what it’s like to have to bend over those low handles, which are usually only 36” from the ground up. Besides impacting your posture and inviting low back pain, you’ll have to lower and extend your head forward just to see where you’re going. And if the person in the wheelchair is also very tall, seeing past his or her head as you stoop over those low handles can be a real pain in the neck!
Handle Extenders from Troy Technologies add up to 8” additional height to a standard wheel chair and are easily adjustable for your height. The handles can also be used for other mobility devices such as walkers. And as one of our Tall Parents recently discovered, the handles even work well with strollers.

If you think that clothing for tall men is always more expensive, check out www.longtiestore.com.
The Longtiestore.com has dozens of extra long ties for a fixed price of $20, and that includes shipping!
I ordered two ties from their east-to-use website and they were on my doorstep 3 days later. The pictures of the ties can be enlarged to get a better idea of the colors. My ties turned out to be nicer that they appeared to be on their website…nice Italian silk ties, each 62 inches long. I’m used to paying $60-$80 for similar ties at retail stores. They accept all major credit cards and PayPal. Currently, they only ship in the U.S.
They don’t currently have any “solid” color ties available, but they have the option in their menu, so I assume they will continue to expand their selection.
Be sure to check out www.longtiestore.com for a nice selection of tall ties and a great value.

Baby stroller review from Tallbabystuff.com
The Chicco Cortina Travel System wins for us, hands-down.
As mentioned in the story from our home page, most tall parents only concern themselves with tall stroller handles. And like our brother, you’ll find tall handles aren’t enough. If you only check the handles, you can be stuck with the horrible annoyance of kicking the bottom of the stroller with every long stride. The best strollers for tall parents have room for long strides too. (more…)
